Jasmine Rodriguez (she/her) is an MA English Literature student at Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU). Her experience as an editor and manager in student publications has strengthened her belief in writing’s power to uplift marginalized voices. Before its closure, she facilitated the launch of a newsletter with incarcerated students at Stateville Correctional Center. Currently, she serves as a Graduate Assistant for “Stateville Speaks,” a newsletter by and for incarcerated individuals and their families.
